Custom 465 Stainless is a martensitic heat treatable alloy capable of 250,000+ PSI tensile in the H950 condition.
This material is double vacuum melted, martensitic age-hardened alloy that has a combination of strength, toughness and corrosion resistance. The tensile strength can be as high as 255 ksi, with a fracture toughness of about 80-90 ksi with a similiar corrosion resistance of 304 stainless.
Vacuum arc remelt (VAR) furnaces are used to produce Custom 465 stainless steel.
