Thank you for inquiring about Hy-Tuf material.
This is a high strength low alloy steel that has good ductility, impact strength and fracture toughness. This material has an addition of Molybdenum to help improve its toughness qualities. HY-TUF is used in the 220/240 ksi tensile strength range. It is VAR to provide optimum cleanliness and preferred ingot structure for superior mechanical properties.
This material is produced by VM/CVM followed by electroslag refining (ESR) and Vacuum Arc Melting (VAR)
This material is made in bar form, forging, rings, tubing and wire.
