This material is available as sheet, plate and bar.

  • Drill Rod M-2

M-2 Drill Rod Tool Steel is a tungsten-molybdenum high speed tool steel that is hardenable to Rc 65. It has excellent abrasion resistance with good toughness. It has superior resistance to softening at elevated temperatures.

Standard bar lengths are 3 foot long but can be supplied in 12 foot long as well.

This material is stocked in the annealed condition and ground and polished in tight tolerances.

    Specifications:

    UNS 20102105, SAW J438B, ASTM A600

  • Drill Rod S-7

S-7 Drill Rod Tool Steel is an air or oil hardening die steel with toughness and wear resistance properties that is used for many tooling applications. It is an excellent shock steel where tool temperatures do not exceed 1000F.

S-7 is used for cold work tools (shear blades, gripper dies, chisels and punches).

Standard bar lengths are 3 foot long but can be supplied in 12 foot long as well.

This material is stocked in the annealed condition and ground and polished in tight tolerances.

  • Drill Rod H-13

H-13 Drill Rod Tool Steel is a free machining grade that is prehardened to Rc 42-46 and is designed for hot work applications. Since it has made in the prehardened condition, size change during heat treatment phase are eliminating and you can machine to finish dimensions. VIS-44 (H-13) is ideal for high-strength machinery parts.

Standard bar lengths are 3 foot long but can be supplied in 12 foot long as well.

This material is stocked in the annealed condition and ground and polished in tight tolerances.

  • Drill Rod W-1

W-1 Drill Rod Tool Steel is a popular, versatile and inexpensive grade of drill rod tool steel. It has a high carbon content so it is usually used without heat treat. Its tool life isn’t equal to O-1 tool steel.

Standard bar lengths are 3 foot long but can be supplied in 12 foot long as well.

This material is stocked in the annealed condition and ground and polished in tight tolerances.

    Specifications:

    UNS 20102105, SAE J437, ASTM A686
