MP35N Alloy

MP35N alloy is a non-magnetic, nickel-cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloy with a unique combination of ultrahigh tensile strength (up to 300 ksi [2068 MPa]), good ductility and toughness, and excellent corrosion resistance. In addition, this alloy displays exceptional resistance to sulfidation, high temperature oxidation, and hydrogen embrittlement. In seawater environments, this alloy is immune to general, crevice and stress corrosion.

MP35N resists corrosion in chloride solutions such as hydrogen sulfide, salt water, and also mineral acids.

The unique properties of MP35N alloy are developed through work hardening, phase transformation and aging. If the alloy is used in the fully work hardened condition, service temperatures up to 750°F (399°C) are suggested.

General Cobalt Information

Stellite® is a cobalt base alloy that is available in rod, electrodes wire and cobalt powder. Cobalt alloys are the most widely used wear resistant hardfacing materials available. Stellite® has  unique combination of wear resistance, strength and corrosion resistance make them adaptable to harsh environments.

Cobalt alloys are used by manufactures due to their excellent resistance and ability to handle the widest combination of wear types including adhesive wear, abrasion, erosion, contact fatigue, thermal shock, cavitation wear, corrosion and oxidation.  The degree to which the cobalt alloys retain these properties assures their unique position in the wear technology field.
